CLIFF LAZARENKO
At 6ft 4ins and 280lbs, Cliff Lazarenko is the genial giant of the sport of Darts. Twice British Open Champion and four times Dartsathlon Champion, Cliff has always numbered in the top eight in the world.
His towering stature and magnetic personality have made him one of, if not the, busiest touring professional in today's game. Companies such as Ind Coope, Bass Wales, Marley Plumb Centre and Carlsberg consider him the premier acquisition for their Sales Promotions and Customer Trade Nights.
Born and raised in Liss, Hampshire, Cliff has played a major role in the growth of the game over the last fifteen years. In 1976 Cliff played his first game for England against Wales and has played Internationally ever since.
In 1979 he won his first major title, the British Matchplay, followed by the British Open a year later, a title he regained in 1984. Many titles have followed - the Danish Open in 1981 and 1983, the World Pairs in 1981, the British Gold Cup in 1984 and the Welsh Open in 1986. In 1987 he was a member of the England World Cup Squad together with Eric Bristow, John Lowe and Bob Anderson in Copenhagen. Cliff Lazarenko has consistently stayed at the top of his sport.
Cliff's frequent television appearances on shows such as "Bullseye", and the long running TV advert for Whitbread Trophy Ale, have assured him of a large following and he has become that unique being, "a media personality".
Over the last ten years Cliff has travelled the world extensively making annual appearances in America, Canada and Australia, and yet still finding time to fit in visits to the Middle East, Japan, Holland, Scandinavia and New Zealand.
Cliff's ability to communicate and his natural warmth and humour have, with his consummate skill at his chosen sport, made him a great success.
